Here at TypeApp, we value and highly respect our users’ private information. This is why we welcome the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) with open arms and are committed to partnering with our Customers and Users to help them understand and prepare for the GDPR.

What is the GDPR?

The GDPR, which comes into effect on the 25th of May 2018, is the most important change in data privacy regulation in 20 years. Besides strengthening and standardizing user data privacy across the EU nations, it will require new or additional obligations on all organizations that handle EU citizens’ personal data, regardless of where the organizations themselves are located.

The primary goal of the GDPR is to grant individuals within the EU full transparency and control of the data which they share. Since we are very much dedicated to data protection, we have been preparing rigorously for the GDPR and are proud that our app is now 100% fully GDPR compliant.

Protection of Your Data
Being at the forefront of technology and specifically security, we are continuously striving to maintain the highest level of security possible while also limiting the amount of user data to the bare minimum needed in order run a ubiquitous email app that supports all the standard email protocols (IMAP, Exchange, SMTP & POP3).

Even though the upcoming GDPR regulations will only affect those in the European Union, we understand the need for full transparency around the world and our goal is to give our users full control of their data and personal information wherever you happen to call home.

Updates to our Privacy Policy

Aligned with this goal and in light of the GDPR, we would like to give you an overview of our upcoming Privacy Policy, since we will be introducing a few changes to the policy on how the data of our users is handled, inclusive of collection, processing, control, and access. We will also make the policy more transparent and user-friendly by providing specific details on our approach to data processing.

Data Management Tools
Users have requested tools to help them comply with the GDPR and we’re happy to say that we’ve built a dedicated tool.

Account Deletion Tool  – To better access the limited personal data that we have stored on our servers, we have introduced this tool which gives users full control over viewing or deleting their account data. This will help users delete personal information, such as names and email addresses, from TypeApp.
